I’m John Smolenski LMHC, the founder of Paragon Mental Health Counseling. Since starting my journey in mental health in 2014, I’ve been driven by a deep passion for helping others navigate their challenges and achieve personal growth. A proud graduate of William James College, I specialize in supporting individuals facing depression, anxiety, self-esteem issues, stress management in both academic and workplace settings, and those living with disabilities, physical differences, or chronic pain.

I believe that simply showing up for therapy is a testament to your motivation for change. My goal is to help you tap into and develop that motivation, guiding you towards the transformative changes you’ve been seeking. Clients often describe my authentic and genuine approach as a cornerstone of our therapeutic relationship, fostering an environment where healing can truly flourish.

At Paragon, I strive to offer more than just a conventional counseling experience. I aim to empower my clients by connecting them with their strengths and creating a collaborative path forward. I’m also committed to maintaining a healthy work environment for my fellow clinicians, as I believe that healthy practitioners cultivate healthy clients.

Outside of my work, I enjoy traveling, weightlifting, cooking, gaming, hiking, and diving into a good book. I look forward to supporting you on your journey!

Paulina Brunelle, LMHC

I’m passionate about blending nature, animals, and mindfulness into therapy to help individuals find balance in today’s busy world. A 2019 graduate of William James College, I specialize in wellness through equine-assisted and farm-based counseling, incorporating movement, mindfulness, and nature into my approach. I also have experience working with military personnel and veterans. Additionally, I offer virtual individual therapy sessions for those in need of telehealth counseling.

In therapy, I focus on building a strong, collaborative relationship to identify positive, sustainable changes. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my horse Eli, my cat Argentina, practicing yoga, coaching soccer, and watching The Great British Baking Show.
